Anybody know how to get bloodwork done Denmark? In Denmark you need to be sick to get the doctors to do anything. Any experience??

In the uk, there are plenty of labs who will do blood tests. The tests have to be taken at a GPs surgery though. So, not private as such, but the tests are paid for. I am thinking about doing this as in the UK, the NHS wouldn't fund it as standard. |

Not Denmark, but in Finland I went to a local medical lab. They drew blood and did the tests for me, I got the results within a week on paper with "normal" ranges for each. No doctor involvement required. Prepare for sticker shock: cholesterol, d-vitamin and test alone cost well over 200 EUR. But you're used to that already living in the Nordics :) |

Go to a private lab. We have a few here in Norway I looked into using. But I explained to my doctor that I thought I had a thyroid problem so he ordered a test - and I did slightly (this was all pre paleo). I fixed the issue with being Paleo.. but I still have to go in every 3 months for testing. I have always thought when the 3 month rotations end that I will pay once a year for private test or just explain and ask the doctor to schedule one. They are going to think we are crazy with how we eat anyways and probably think we need the test. just tell them you eat butter and fat ect. :P |

Most pharmacies in Denmark offer a cholesterol test at least. It is a complete blood work but it will give you data on LDL, HDL and Triglycerides. Maybe they offer other tests as well! |

Maybe your health insurance supports preventative care and you are entitled to certain check ups and bloodwork from a certain age? |
