Hello.

My name is Nick Kinsella and I am a Personal Trainer for a large commercial gym chain in the UK. I have been following a paleo diet for about a year and a half now and feel quite frankly fantastic. I have made a concerted effort to learn all the science and I encourage all of my clients to adopt it.

I am very much of the mindset that the my role is that of an educator and as such I gave a Power Point presentation to 35 gym members along with 5 Personal Trainers on the Gym floor about the diet a couple of Sundays ago. I was very pleased about the level of enthusiasm from the members, so I'll be doing another one in the next couple of weeks and will make a habit out of doing this sort of thing on a frequent basis.

I really want to create a paleo movement at my gym but I'm short of ideas apart from the presentations and my more typical one on one consultations with the members.

Anyone got some good ideas for how to go about promoting the paleo diet/lifestyle?

Thanks in advance

Best regards

Nick

Having worked in commercial gyms during my career, I found that the best way to get anything done is to go to the top. Put on a presentation for your owner/gym manager and propose a "Prehistoric Fitness" challenge. For liability reasons, you might be better off contracting a Paleo-friendly dietitian to create a general diet template ("male" & "female" as well as "weight loss", "gain", & "maintain" options) and focusing on offering outdoor exercise classes, etc. Charge people monthly and run it like a boot camp program. Do before and after photos, body comp, weight, and measurements too. – FED at LiveCaveman.com Nov 18 2011 at 20:15

Offer a GoPaleo "Whole 30" support group with 2x weekly mini-talks. People will LOVE that to support their New Year intentions.

If it takes off, you can send me 5% of your profits via PayPal!
