If you had to rank all nuts in terms of their nutritional profile (keeping polyunsaturated fat content, omega-6 content, etc.), what would your list look like?

I'm assuming macadamias would be on top, followed by almonds (lower omega-6), pecans..

Hazelnuts are lower in omega-6 than almonds and also higher in omega-9 than almonds. Almonds have more fiber than hazelnuts but are also a goitergen (hazelnuts and macs are not) which may not matter as much if you eat your almonds roasted. I'm eating all my nuts raw -- almonds, macs and hazelnuts but try (operative word "try") to limit almonds as I do have a hypothyroid condition. – Alexandra Nov 19 2011 at 18:31

I defer, as always, to Mark Sisson.
