I know a lot of paleo eaters like to bend the rules and have a treat with dark chocolate, which is a great source of antioxidants, magnesium, iron, copper and manganese, but I'm still on the fence with it for my own consumption.
Ever since I can remember, I always sneeze a couple times when I eat the first few bites of something made with a high percentage of cacao (milk chocolate has no effect). I'm so used to it that it's funny because I can tell people to watch me sneeze before it happens. When I have it I get this intense build up in my face and eyes that you usually feel just before sneezing really hard.
It then goes away after a few bites and everything seems fine. I'm wondering if anybody else has that reaction and if there is anything that could explain it. I tend to stay away from it because I imagine that even though I seem fine after the initial burst of sneezing, some things might be happening under the hood that I'm unaware of.
Thanks for any info that my clarify that mystery for me.
