One of the reasons I love eating Paleo is the simple taste of certain food combos. For example, a few favorite meals of mine are sardines in olive oil served in a hollowed out bell pepper. I also love kippers w/ almonds and berries for breakfast. Oh, and my favorite lunch is taking a grilled portabella mushroom (already grilled) and cutting it up, then rolling it up in Apple-gate farms hams w/ sliced cucumber then dipped in Sunbutter. What are some of your favorite quick prep/tasty combos?

A recently discovered favorite of ours:

  1. pan-sauteed salmon or tilapia
  2. crumbled and mixed with hollandaise sauce (butter/egg yolk/lemon juice)
  3. stuffed inside a halved avocado (finished product looks a bit like a deviled egg)

OMG. I think I'm addicted.

Borrowing from a Robb Wolf podcast, either he or Andy was eating shredded coconut and cocoa nibs. Not sweetened coconut -- just unsweetened. I tried it at work (since we had both available) and it is TASTY. At least to me, anyways. :)

  • Bacon-wrapped hamburger patties.
  • Meat and veggies wrapped in a thin omelette.
  • Soy sauce (wheat-free) and coconut milk for a sauce base or to spice up a broth.
  • Soy sauce-based marinade and steak.
  • Eggs and canned tuna.

Yes! I thought i was the only one who likes soy sauce on my steak! – Eva Jul 30 2010 at 4:23
I thought soy sauce was non-paleo because it contained soy? – Marisa Jul 31 2010 at 3:27

Some consider fermented soy to be okay. IMO, as long as you can tolerate it, fermented soy here and there is just fine. – Susan Jul 31 2010 at 23:31
Well, can't that be said for ALL things ? "If you tolerate it"+"here and there". – Ikco Aug 1 2010 at 18:04
Sure it can be said of all things, so what? I wasn't implying that "everything in moderation" piece of crap. All I meant was, fermented soy is fine, just don't depend on it for nutrients. Hence the "here and there". If you consume it all the time, it ends up taking the place of more nutrient dense foods. But of course, if you think fermented soy is bad or it gives you problems, don't consume it. It's not complicated. – Susan Aug 1 2010 at 22:21

slow-cooker cooked beef (I always cook more to have ready to just warm up) with eggs fried in the beef's fat.

same beef with veggies (I'm lazy - I microwave a mix of what I have in the freezer, broccoli, cauliflower etc.)

eggs pouched and cooked in ground beef sauce (something like sloppy joe I think, with basic spices and some crashed tomatoes)

hard boiled eggs with avocados (a bit of chopped onion is good as well)
