So, according to ABC News, the cherpumple is the "hot new trend in Thanksgiving food." It's the dessert equivalent of a turducken and is a three-layered cake with a pie baked inside each layer.

Is there another food (ish) item that is a bigger contrast to a paleo lifestyle?! Yikes!

Despite its size and complexity, it'll never trump the Twinkie's noxiousness. – Chickenosaurus Rex Nov 25 2011 at 14:42

I seriously got about this nauseous looking at that cherpumple monstrosity. – Dave S. Nov 25 2011 at 18:55
It made my heart hurt just looking at it. Coronary, anyone? – Nemesis Nov 28 2011 at 0:21

Nope, not even close. Fried Gluten with Peanuts shits on the cake for being anti-paleo -

http://www.my365.com.au/wei-chuan-fried-gluten-with-peanuts-170g.html

Ingredients - Wheat gluten, peanuts, water, soy sauce (soybean, wheat, salt), sugar, salt, soybean oil, monosodium glutamate, spices. * (ref - Fitbomb)

Cant be beaten for its non-paleoness. Ever!

well no, its not the most un-paleo because it does have some fruit in it.

ha! yeah, a cherpumple is a fruit just like pizza is a vegetable. – Renee Nov 24 2011 at 19:31
David didn't say the cherpumple was a fruit? So if he said pizza has vegetables on it that wouldn't be incorrect either. – peter Nov 25 2011 at 1:35

Pizza is not a vegetable? – Dave S. Nov 25 2011 at 18:51

I'd like to see Martin Berkhan "master" that!

Holy smokes! I wrote a post about the pumple cake last year (link here) when The Flying Monkey debuted this monstrosity (and Kathy Lee & Hoda partook on national TV) but it looks like it has grown since then.

Back in '10 there were only 2 pies (apple & pumpkin) inside the cake, but each slice still packed 1,800 calories.

I can't imagine what kind of caloric payload is in store for someone who downs a slice of new the triple layer version!

I'd give it a go. Once! – peter Nov 25 2011 at 1:36

Yeah, apparently putting things inside of other things is the way things are going lately.

Yeah, that somehow seems worse than the Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookie! veryculinary.com/2011/03/22/… – Beth-WeightMaven Nov 25 2011 at 15:29

Deep fried twinkie.

Especially if it isn't fried in lard.

Yeah, I kinda thought the whole "deep fried" carnival items were rivals. That and the cheeseburger with Krispy Kreme donuts as the bun! – Beth-WeightMaven Nov 25 2011 at 15:28
