Hi everyone. Just a quick question about salad. I enjoy being able to eat all types of meat, fish and poultry on the paleo diet. The one area that i am not to sure on is the area of salad. Is having a salad made of cabbage, a few carotts, diced celery, along with squeezed lemon and extra virgin olive oil allowed? Thanx in advance for any info.

Nick,

Your salad recipe looks good. However, in general, if something is called "salad," it is not necessarily healthy/paleo. A case in point, mandarin orange/mini-marshmallow "salad".

No, you don't make friends with salad.

Yeah, go ahead, "knock yourself out".

I love that phrase. Try explaining it to a foreigner without an idiomatic command of English. It literally means "hit yourself until you are unconscious". Doesn't sound very appealing when you say it like that.

Anyway, what's wrong with a salad? Perfectly fine complement to any meal.
