Hi.

I've been researching about joining a CSA but it seems very involved. You have to go to a drop location once a week (or every other week) and they don't deliver home. I'm busy and too used to get food delivered home by Safeway.

Is it possible to have a box of organic vegetables in season delivered home? (I live in San Francisco).

Thanks.

Yep, I've used https://www.planetorganics.com for years. All organic, and mostly local. More than just produce too, I get my fish/seafood from them and a handful of other things regularly. They have a key to our building so they leave the delivery in a cooler + crate outside the apartment door.

I also know a lot of fans of http://www.farmfreshtoyou.com as well but I prefer picking out specific produce every week.

You only mentioned vegetables but I have to also give a big thumbs up to the monthly meat CSA from http://brandonnaturalbeef.com/ which has very reasonable grass fed beef prices and does free home delivery in the bay area.

You guys are lucky, here we have similar service but its only once per month. And during winter season, pretty much nothing is local, except some turnips, etc.

Yeah it's quite something here... we'll be moving back to Toronto at some point and I know I'm going to miss California food! – stephthegeek Nov 30 2011 at 19:40
