If you subscribe to Food Reward Theory, would there be anything gained (well, lost, I mean, in terms of bodyfat) by having one day a week where all meals are eaten with a pinched nose? I know that nose pinching is part of the practice (according to Seth Roberts), but would it be a waste of time doing it just one day a week (although for the whole day)?

Next time you have a cold with stuffed sinuses, see what the effect is and please report back. :)

But if true, things like essential oils, vanilla, etc. are out the door. At least for those trying to slim down.

I've already done the "cold shut down my nose" thing and I didn't enjoy it. Even the few things I could still taste were weird because the part of the flavor you smell was gone. Ychh! – Nance Dec 1 2011 at 0:48
The lack of reward didn't stop me from eating, though. That was in my SAD days and I kept searching for foods that still tasted good. Sorry, Stephan! – Nance Dec 1 2011 at 0:54
Yeah, even without taste I've always had the "feed a cold" syndrome. Tend to eat a lot more. – JayJay Dec 1 2011 at 3:38
