could add lard, and goose fat too! – Lady_Arwen Dec 1 2011 at 16:15
lard and goose fat are both high in PUFAs and not good – cliff Dec 1 2011 at 17:38
Agree with Cliff. As far as vegetable oils go, high heat peanut oil isn't as bad as one might think (about 17% PUFA). I think peanut oil is often used commercially for deep frying, and, if so, fast food fry might be a little less bad than I had thought... Anybody know more? – Jay Dec 1 2011 at 21:00
17% pufa is way to much, very unhealthy stuff imo – cliff Dec 2 2011 at 13:10
ok as for coconut oil, we use quite alot and have even taken to using in deep fat fryer. Is this ok? how many times can it be heated? Max. heat setting is 190 Celcius. – Paleo Works Dec 8 2011 at 21:31
