let's first get out of the way i'm not 100% paleo, nor do i wish to get a sermon as to why the "all or nothing" approach is magical for you.
I have a question regarding increase in blood cholesterol levels (which I'm aware low is more dangerous than high) and the potential for an increase in CHD on an 80% paleo diet.
My concern is that of having normal levels of chol. after yrs of eating (what i thought was healthy) and a decrease in the ELC (ear lobe crease, which can be indicative of CHD/CAD) [coronary heart/artery disease].
After about half a year into the moderately paleo lifestyle, i've noticed the ELC is back and deeper than i ever recall it being.
studies indicate this is due to an increase in saturated fat, obesity & dietary cholesterol.
What information do you all have and/or recommendations? This is definitely a concern as I do not wish to walk the same path as some of my family members.
thank you.
