There's been hype about Manuka honey - it's pretty pricey. Anyone like to offer their experience for that product or any very raw honey? Worth it or not? TIA.

I only use manuka for wound healing. It's just not cost effective either. I think raw and local (if you can get it) is more than fine for eating. |

I deliberately stick to honey from my immediate area as that is reputed to benefit your immune system if you have reactions to spring flowers/trees. I buy raw because the honey in supermarkets has all pollen removed. EDIT: Yikes, I forgot to answer your question. When I first decided to use the honey in my 2-3 mugs of coffee, total of about 1 tbsp, I check my blood glucose a number of times and it never rose more than 10 points. I like the taste and I haven't noticed anything negative at all. |
