Stabby is a woman? I'm not convinced your human. I just found about RAW FOOD yesterday, I thought she was a vegan at first. – primallykosher Dec 9 2011 at 14:00

I would like to nominate Nipple Massage as best new Paleo phrase. It's not new but it definitely can be used in a variety of ways. Actually, it works very nicely with your current suggestions! Examples:

  • That was one Faileo nipple massage.
  • Don't you be nipple massaging my safe starch!

And, well.. Paleo Babby and nipple massage are pretty much perfect together like almond butter and chocolate.

Pray tell how can a nipple massage can be a Faileo? Inappropriate time perhaps? Like in the middle of Trader Joe's when you discover a killer sale on bourbon vanilla beans? But even then it may be okay, given the price is really good. – none Dec 9 2011 at 0:32

Well done, jesuisjuba! Science + PH meme + humour = brilliant. – Scrubjay Dec 9 2011 at 0:39

What is this "nipple massage"? I'm out of the loop. – MtnEvan Dec 9 2011 at 2:15
2
Mer! I would assume that if one were to go braless and put tape over their nipples, and and a NM is attempted that it would be bad. Bonus: @ @ = nipple massage – jesuisjuba - paleorepublic.com Dec 9 2011 at 2:18

Nipple massage is Dr. K's controversial method to increase oxytocin, a key pituitary hormone. – The Loon Dec 9 2011 at 16:41

Huge oversight, Kamal. Where is The Kraken?

You are forgiven this transgression, however, for the awesome thread and awesomeness in general. I expect to see The LaLonde on this list STAT :D

LaLonde's kind of an egomaniacal a-hole it seems to me but given enough alcohol such trivialities can be easily overlooked. Do we have nekids of him around? – Shari Bambino Dec 9 2011 at 2:03

Evelyn from Carbsane is way more controversial than all those people, she should definitely be on the nominees list.

...and hottest bod goes to Denise and her 36 pack

Blog post of the year nominee: The Why are we Hungry? series by J Stanton, Gnolls.org, particularly part VII, "Why Do We Ever Stop Eating?" (I also think Paleo 2.0 by K Harris was awesome)

1
@Nance: I soooo agree with this. J. Stanton is really an unsung hero. This series was massive and sooooo well done and brought forward so much that was not in the awareness of most folks and needs to be factored in, big time, into thinking. And as a formerly obese person, I prostrate myself on the ground to J. Stanton for his desire to understand and to foster understanding at large re: the complexity of obesity and post obesity. – Atkins-witha-loincloth Dec 9 2011 at 17:19
@Nance. Yes, Yes. I have really studied the Hunger Series by J Stanton and I also print out copies of Paleo 2.0 to share. BTW I think we are leading parallel lives! – nancy64 Dec 10 2011 at 0:33
2
Thank you! I'm honored. Hunger is a curiously neglected subject in the nutrition field: people aren't obese because they enjoy being obese, and diets don't fail because people dislike being slim and healthy. Diets fail because hunger overrides our other motivations. And there's more to say on the subject before I wrap up the series! -JS – J. Stanton - gnolls.org Dec 14 2011 at 1:28

I nominate Dallas Hartwig of Whole9 in the bod category! Also, Modern Paleo Warfare and Cave Girl Eats for funniest.

Not-quite-paleo figure - Seth Roberts

Paleo phrase - Paleoish

Villian - Traditional Medical Research, Evidence Based Science,

Durianrider should get nominated for most freakin' pesky. He doesn't deserve to be titled a villain of the caliber of Monsanto and Mickey D's!

4
And I truly believe he means well. Although a Monsanto rep came to our school a couple years ago to give a talk, and he actually seemed to mean well too. – Kamal Dec 9 2011 at 2:27

Debate of the year: Durianrider vs. Nikoley. – Anonymous Chump Dec 9 2011 at 2:36

Most influential figure, male
Dr. Kurt G. Harris, Hands down! I mean, this guy never posts and we are still talking about him! Mark Sisson has to post every day just to come close. I really dig it when he posts about cars and guns.

Most influential figure, female
Denise Minger, by a nose
Tough call, Emily has so much going for her, but anyone who can get TCC off of life support long enough to attack her, gets my vote

Hottest body, male
What no Matt Stone? No Anthony Colpo? Where IS the love?
Mark Sisson, period. The abs, the smile, the niceness. And dammit, he posts every friggin' day!

Hottest body, female
Tie Denise Minger & Melissa McEwen
I'm a sucker for the ribbon around her neck, but I also likes the wavy hair and glasses! Anyone got Sally Fallon's phone number?

Most controversial figure
Write in winner - Paul Jaminet for "The 'Safe Starch' Chronicles"

Book of the year 2010/2011
Perfect Health Diet - It just is.

Best new paleo phrase
Tie - Paleobabby/Nipple message

Best villain
Dr. Oz - say no more

Most influential not-quite-paleo figure
Three way tie: Taubes/Lustig/Eades

Lifetime achievement award
Weston A. Price

Your KGH analysis is right on. Sisson's writting is superb, but at ten-to twenty times the volume, he hasn't said half of what Harris has said.Reminds me of Jimmy Brown's career. Just stops in the middle of it all, to become an actor, or used car salesman ! – shah78 Dec 12 2011 at 18:37

Not sure if it was in this calendar year or not, but for blogpost - Chris Masterjohn's post about Choline Defiency and Fatty Liver.

I vote Melissa hottest body. She exemplifies that nerds are smart AND sexy. I also vote Jimmy Moore for most influential male. His paleo interviews are invaluable.

1
Nah, not Jimmy. His podcast is popular, but he himself has very little direct influence in the paleo world. People don’t ask him for paleo advice, people don’t point to one of his blogposts, people don’t point to his books, etc… Paleo Hacks and the paleo blogosphere is filled with “Mark Sisson recommends” or “Jaminet suggests” or whoever says, but not “Jimmy Moore says”. – Paleo2.0 Dec 9 2011 at 18:14
2
I hear your point but Jimmy Moore brings people into our community that would otherwise be intimidated. – BaconHealsChic Dec 10 2011 at 0:38
3

Sarah Fragoso for hottest female: Plus she is a paleo mum and has extra pressures of being a mum and has a great before and after transformation. http://www.newdawnfitness.com/2010/07/everyday-paleo-mom.html
