I'll admit, I do a daily IF in the a.m. (as I simply have no appetite) & haven't found any negative results. So I decided to make yesterday my full fasting day, nothing but water... Went super smoothly, no appetite/hunger issues. But I did notice towards the end of the day yesterday & upon waking this morning, my core temp is high. Not feverish... just higher than normal.
A) I got cooties B) It's a normal occurrence - Why? C) Why am I such a Misfit? I'm not just a nitwit! (a la Rudolph)... LOL

Thanks!

Pray tell, what is your core temp?

Temp will change through the month for women as well.

And fasting (but for much longer than one day) leads to a 5% increase in metabolism for the short term.

And morning temp is what is correlated to metabolism, maybe it was a hot day or you drank/ate something hot?

Maybe you're in menopause?

Maybe you need to relax, I doubt this is significant. Post a month's average temp at the same time of the month/time of day and then we can judge whether this is significant or not.

I accidentally did whole-day fasts a couple times when I was busy during the day and decided to skip at night because of potential GERD.

The only things I noticed were how quiet my GI tract was and how calm my nervous system. If anything, my temp seems slightly lower.

If I'm outside quite a bit during cool/cold weather I tend to have increased body temp later in a pendulum swing.

Thats interesting because I always get colder (especially my extremities) when IFing.

Me too, it's an overall calming/soothing experience. – Nance Dec 12 2011 at 17:00

Mike at Critical MAS said he stopped daily IF (if that's not an oxymoron) because of lowered body temp/cold resistance. I notice when I fast for a full day my ability to generate heat drops dramatically, logically - no food being broken down, less thermogenesis. I'd say getting hotter is a fluke.

Today I just did fast for 17 hours and after i broke out of the fast and ate dinner I noticed that i was running a lot hotter than normal. 78 degrees in my house is usually cool to me but for some reason I just couldn't cool off.
