Kerrygold is no longer available where I live, but there are some other butters. Never quite sure how good or bad they are, i.e. are the cows grassfed?

Right now I'm using Champion Pure Irish Creamery Butter. Know anything about it?

How about Lurpak butter (not their fake stuff)?

As far as I can tell from various google searches, most European butter comes from grass-fed cows. I buy either Irish butter (can't get Kerrygold anymore)or French or Lurpak. I wasn't able to find specific info on any brand. I can find butter made from unpasteurised at some specialty shops, but I'd have to mortgage my home to afford it, so holding off on that until a long lost uncle dies and leaves me his fortune or until I find buried treasure. I'm in the exact same boat. Apparently, they use to sell Kerry Gold where I live, but now the only thing I can find is french butter and Champion.

In Ireland, all cows are predominantly grass-fed. The issue with champion though I think is that it's pasteurized, which removes a lot of the nutritional content of the butter and destroys the omega 3 content.

Don't quote me on that though, but every bit of butter where I live is pasteurized, especially the foreign stuff.

But yes, champion butter is predominantly grass-fed, so it's your best option.

Kerrygold is not available where I live either but Champion is sold here. A friend who called the company told me that they were the same, just packaged differently for different markets.
