I'm histamine intolerant. I'm trying to find a list of foods I CAN eat. There are only "to avoid"-lists on google. What are some of the best paleo foods I CAN eat?

I'm also intolerant. So, what do I eat? Lot's of meat, beef and lamb prefered. Fresh of course, nothing processed. Fat: Ghee, olive oil, coconut oil. Veggies: All sorts of squash, cabbage (except brussels sprouts and turnip), beets, roots, green beans, onions, garlic. I'm not that much into fruits. Turmeric is a very good spice, because it is a histamine blocker. Sometimes I eat fish (mostly salmon), but one really has to be careful, because fish degrades that quick and the histamine level in fish can become really high.

Any particular reason why you avoid brussels sprouts and turnips? – MM Dec 17 2011 at 9:55
Cabbage is o.k. for us, but those two, brussels sprouts and turnip, are listed as the "cabbage exceptions". I'm not sure what's wrong with them. Either they are too high in histamine or other biogene amines or they contain histamine liberators. – Isa Palstek Dec 17 2011 at 12:00

I have histamine intolerance & I still eat the no-no foods on the list, but less often & always take 1000-2000 mg of Vitamin C (natural anti-histamine) afterwards.

It's also worth experimenting because I have found that not all foods on the list are a problem for me--though it may be a matter of quantity. YMMV!

Dragonfly - old thread, I know! I was looking up some info on histamine intolerance after reading this post by Kresser: chriskresser.com/…. Do you have any good resources you have found on this? Mainly an exhaustive list of foods, which ones are high offenders, borderline, etc. Personal experience. I've been doing SIBO for a year, which has helped, but it's not addressing all the issues (like low blood pressure and temporary loss of consciousness!). I am seeing a holistic practitioner, but he's not a whole lot of help... – RK Mar 25 at 13:02
Yikes! My symptoms are a walk int he park compared to yours... There was a link someone shared on one of my questions (afraid that's all I have except for the Google search results histamino.wordpress.com/page/2 – Dragonfly Mar 25 at 15:14
And thanks for the reminder to do more reading on the topic! :) – Dragonfly Mar 25 at 15:17
