I can't sate my hunger with conventional paleo foods no matter what amount I take in. For example, the dinner I just had consisted of:
46g. spinach, 49g. celery, 88g. cauliflower, 116g. broccoli (all in a salad, tossed with 3tbsp. flaxseed oil) 85g. sugarless bacon, 218g. beef steak, 62g. wild steamed salmon.
...and I still feel hungry. Maybe my young age and athleticism are the cause. Should I continue eating, or is my body still adapting to this sort of diet after three weeks?
If you are young and active, I would guess that adding some starchy veggies to that meal might help. Try some winter squash, yam, or the like with some butter and see how you feel...And I do think that at three weeks in, that your body would definitely still be adjusting, especially if you were eating SAD.
mind over matter
you are obsessed with counting for whatever reason. just eat. sweet potatoes with a drizzle of coconut oil and cinnamon will make you feel good. eat a whole chicken
and stop counting. your body will thank you.
If you're hungry just eat. If weighing every gram work for you, do it. But I'd advise you stop that and just eat till you are not hungry anymore, just listen to your body. Unless you only weighed and measure this meal only to provide us more info in this post. And 8oz of steak with a couple pieces of bacon is really not that much food, especially if you're young and athletic.
Make sure you're getting to bed in time, sleeping 8-9 hours. Personally, my hunger gets all weird when I don't sleep enough.
