So, I've basically been eating paleo for a few weeks. I mostly eat eggs, beef, salad, carrots, sweet potatoes, shredded coconut, a little fruit, avocados, salmon, and the occasional legumes/rice.
Dairy elimination helped the most in terms of my skin and grains/wheat/gluten also seemed to show improvement. Right now, I am clear sometimes, and then at other times have small breakouts. Are there any vitamins or supplements I can take which will help? My diet seems pretty perfect. I am currently taking fish oil and zinc. I have tried vitamin d3, and have tried taking it a couple times, but it seems to correlate with breakouts, so I've stopped that.
Vitamin D should not break you out. Are you sure there aren't any allergens in your supplement brand?
¹ especially vitamin k2 and vitamin A
² makes my cheeks very, very soft.
I don't have any recommendations for supplements, but I wonder if you've given your diet change enough time? Two weeks isn't very long, especially if you've been eating a SAD for 20 or 30 years. It can take months to see the full results as far as clearer skin. I'm not suggesting that you not take supplements, of course. I'm just suggesting that you may find your skin staying clearer and not reacting to environmental stresses as much in a few weeks or months. It may be worth retrying some supplements then, even if they seem not to work now.
What helped me a lot was 50mg chelated zinc per day orally and niacinamide topically (mixed with witch hazel) You can take it orally as well if you prefer. I've been using these for several years now and would not be without them.
You might look at B5. Some report good results with that. I never tried it.
I have had great experience with Turmeric. It is the spice that makes curry yellow. I has many many positive attributes, but skin support is among one of the most well known. You can make your own capsules or simply buy them premade. I think that Walmart has a fairly reputable brand. (Meaning not many fillers)
