What is your diet like?
I am 22. I struggled with acne from 15-19. It was really awful.
I used to break out almost immediately after eating fruit too, but that was when I was also eating bread, pasta, and other non-paleo food. I thought it was the sugar too, so I hopped on the internet and went looking for answers. Thinking I had candida after doing a ton of research, I went and had a colon cleansing and started drinking herbal tea and just about doing everything to get rid of acne and what I thought was candida overgrowth.
I felt a little better, but it didn't get rid of my acne. After reading Loren Cordain's book, I changed my diet. It took me a little over a year to completely get rid of my acne by eating paleo. My acne went away though.
It no longer controls me.
Sure, sometimes I get an occasional pimple, but only if I eat bread, wheat products or something that I know isn't paleo. And when/if I do get a pimple, they are small and they go away by themselves almost immediately once I eat right.
I can eat a ton of fruit now and not break out though.
I eat vegetables (mostly non-starchy expect on workout days), fruit, meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and drink water.
Oh and a big mistake I made when I started paleo was I ate a ton of carrots. I would always crave them and they're cheap and easy to eat. Don't make the same mistake, they actually prevented me from seeing results.
