Who has had to cut out eggs and how does your egg intolerance demonstrate itself?

What are the chickens fed to create your eggs? Sometimes they feed them soy, vegetarian feed and other crap, which could be causing the allergic reaction.

These are pastured eggs from Whole Foods, yes the $7 per carton ones. They seem to all have access to vegetarian food, but I have no idea what they are fed. Having said that Im looking to see if they have any effect on anyone else, as I can't be the only one, if it is indeed the eggs. – Cory151 Dec 23 2011 at 2:52
Chickens are not by nature vegetarian- the flock that wanders through our yard down here decimates the bug population too. – henny Dec 24 2011 at 2:12
That was my problem with eggs. The soy feed. Now that I am picky about buying soy free eggs- I tolerate eggs just fine. – Senneth Dec 28 2011 at 17:41

I seem to be getting progressively LESS tolerant of eggs since going paleo. I've been gluten free for over 12 years and I eat only pastured eggs (from chickens in my own backyard, so I know exactly what they eat.)

I get a weird feeling in my stomach after eating them recently, and most days I just have absolutely no appetite for them at all. I also sometimes get air in my stomach after eating them and it causes reflux and burping. Gross.

I used to have a huge problem when I ate eggs all by themselves for breakfast. Just feeling like throwing up. I am considering giving up eggs for a trial period to see if they make any difference in inflammation. Now, it seems like I have a problem with eggs only when I have eaten some wheat within the last few days.

I used to get mini hives along the lymph node chain that runs under the ears down the neck and IBS. But since I have been GF for 2 years I am thinking of seeing how I do with eggs--hoping my gut has healed and I don't get an immune reaction--has any one else been able to restart eating eggs?

Ugh, the bloating, the constipation, the burning sensation in my lower GI, the itching, the diarrhea as soon as I thought I was feeling better. Definitely not something I want to go back to, ever.
