Does anyone have any experience with premature ejaculation? It seems to have been a recently development. I did not have this problem throughout puberty from ags 14-18... Then suddenly at 18 I got it. 30 Now, some times it's worse than others.

I have read connections into hyperthyroidism.. but I am not sure that this is it... I have no symptoms of this and my thyroid labs are perfect.

30 year old fit male, 5'11 and 170 with 9-10% body fat. No health issues besides acne which was taken care of on Paleo. Been Paleo for about a year. No arousal, libido problems to speak of.

What do you consider premature? – Annie Dec 24 2011 at 8:36

I have seen men in practice ask me about this all the time. After they bath themselves in evolutionary medicine their sexual deficits improve. This is one of the first ones that I see go away in the Leptin Rx. It corresponds to two things.....a rising free testosterone and falling omega 6 level. The best person to ask is the wife/partner. They are the ones who notice it first. – The Quilt Dec 24 2011 at 14:15

Good sex is high reward. Make it more bland:-)

Does that mean no chocolate sauce or whipped cream? – Matt Dec 25 2011 at 18:38

Definitely a no-no, Matthew. Though cacao nibs and coconut oil massaged into the nipple during foreplay is ok. – luckybastard Dec 25 2011 at 18:42

Can't go wrong with the coconut oil. – Matt Dec 25 2011 at 18:47

We need a question about using coconut oil as a personal lubricant. – Matt Dec 25 2011 at 23:18

Sex is like playing guitar. It's in all how you practice.

If you practice to get off quick, well, that's what you'll do in the big show. Also, just going slowly, staying relaxed, and focusing on her and not your junk should help.

If all else fails, keep a bucket of ice by the bed. When you're gonna shoot, ice that rascal.

All that said, shooting quick isn't a big deal if you have a quick recovery time. Many females are actually flattered. A paleo lifestyle will have your hormones doing what they're supposed to, which helps.

Some females might be flattered, but if it happens all the time and every time, I'm sure it gets old real quick. I know, not helpful :P – Wisper Dec 24 2011 at 13:56

I like the last paragraph in this answer. And, not to be crude, but tongues don't have this problem... – Rose Dec 24 2011 at 22:50

Neither do fingers. – Cody Dec 25 2011 at 0:59

Wisper, that's why having a number of weapons in one's arsenal is handy. There's no rule that says in any given battle that you have to be restricted to using only one. ;D – Rose Dec 26 2011 at 4:32

I'll never use the ice bucket in a hotel again. This makes me wonder what people have been doing with it. – Chickenosaurus Rex Dec 27 2011 at 2:16

One approach is to drink yourself into a numbed stupor. The problem is that you won't remember anything the next day, and that can be problematic, on many levels. There is also the issue of staying hard, but for me that's never been a problem, even while more or less blacked out. Marijuana is a godsend also. And valium. Note that the latter does not combine well with alcohol and can, in fact, be quite dangerous. Also it loses its effectiveness rather rapidly.

As Rose mentioned in her comment, many women actually prefer an educated tongue. And, as another commenter pointed out, there is something sexy about a man who cannot control himself, especially if he allows himself wild, unapologetic abandon. Tell her when you're coming and don't apologize. There is a time for stamina and a time for needing to be selfish and take your pleasure. Let her know in advance when you need it quick and dirty. There's something to be said for leaving her wanting more. Just make sure you give her the orgasm when she wants it. (Strangely, it seems that women are not dogs like you and me.) If you are not able to use both mouth and fingers simultaneously, it's a good skill to acquire.

As far as developing stamina, there is one exercise that I can recommend. Try stopping and starting your pee-stream. Get used to the pain. For those times when a long screw is necessary and appropriate, you will need to develop these muscles.

If you're talking specifically about premature ejaculation, rather than hormones more broadly, forget food, paleo, etc. It all comes down to your imagination - what you are thinking!

Forget everything your 20 year old bros told you, forget everything (OK, most, not everything) you've seen on youporn, etc.

You need a good, nearly equal-aged, equally experienced or inexperienced woman so that you grow and learn together. Sound mushy and overly sentimental? Bull$h&t, it works.

I found in my late teens and early twenties when I was getting down like a madman (I'm 32 btw), albeit with one truly fabulous woman, that I would let nature take its course: forplay, imagination going crazy etc and get a good pace going - feeling eachother out, going slow and steady, smoothness and gentleness and kindness should be on your mind. Anyhow, do this natural path till you yourself are, in your mind, like sh%t, i'm getting ready to rock and roll here....

At that point, and I know this sounds silly like something you hear in movies, but I'd actively think about anything unsexual: taking out the garbage, zombie movies, maternal relatives, beating your buddies at Battlefield online - anything other than the incredible sex you're having. I swear to god I remember right now many many times thinking "taking out the garbage, you're taking out the garbage" - like some kind of mantra!

Ah good good times. Anyhow, enjoy enjoy enjoy what you're up to right now is what life is all about! Don't let society, your parents, etc suck this stuff out of you! Good food, sleep, sex - that's the key!

PS: this warrants something greater than a PS but: always always always put the female first in all your sexual endeavors. I mean it. Always always at least try and get them to orgasm first. It ain't always going to pan out that way but always shoot for it. You will get so much back in return - both sexually and just person-to-person as you make your way through life with this person (however long it lasts: one night to one thousand nights).

I had the opposite experience. I was cavorting with women 7-15 years my senior in my early twenties. They taught me more control and artistry in my game than any of the girls my age I was having sex with. I'm not saying it has anything to do with age, but with the self-confidence of both parties involved. – luckybastard Dec 25 2011 at 17:22

Yeah lucky, I suppose I could've left the age part out. I definitely meant more that if your experience is equally naive it is fun cuz you learn together and there is maybe less a chance of judgement etc that someone more experienced may have. – ben61820 Dec 26 2011 at 2:45

I don't like women my age, but that's my preference. I like them older, and I like them younger. Not sure age has anything to do with premature ejaculation, though. You either have it or you don't... – wjones3044 Dec 26 2011 at 15:20

Premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction may be related with excessive masturbation. Check out this website: yourbrainonporn.com

Along with the paleo diet I intend to stop masturbation to "reset" my brain chemistry to its original state.

Haven't tried any of these, but heard they work.

  • Slap two condoms on top of each other for less stimulation (might increase chances of breakage, see comment below)
  • Think about Rosie O'Donnel when you're about to come. Beware, might kill your wood completely.
  • Pull out and squeeze the shaft of your penis quite hard, at the base.
  • Pull out and squeeze the shaft of your penis quite hard with your forefinger and thumb, top and bottom of the penis, right behind the glans
  • Pull out, pull down on your scrotum gently.
  • Pull out, cool down, continue.

I think the double condom thing will actually increase the probability that condom will rip. health.arizona.edu/health_topics/sexual_health/… – Caveman formally known as Dan Dec 24 2011 at 20:11
Thanks for this, edited my response accordingly. – Wisper Dec 25 2011 at 1:22
I've heard the last item on that list is pretty effective--I read an article about it once and gave it to my friend, who showed it to her boyfriend ;p The article suggested practicing on your own, pretty much repeating that last step a handful (ahem) of times.. I'm pretty sure you can figure that out (: – Mick Jagger Dec 25 2011 at 5:40

The obvious problem here is, your partner suffers from DOS: delayed orgasm syndrome. If this is true of multiple partners, that only attests to its contagiousness. These women who take more than 3 minutes need serious medical attention. Not to mention, how selfish they are, always thinking of their own pleasure.

Dorado: funny. Wisper: not funny. Humor is such a fine line. As my better half says, if you don't respect it, you shouldn't get it. – syrahna Dec 26 2011 at 23:13

It's not a joke I tell in female circles, and I have many more offensive ones which guys find funny. In guy circles. What are you doing here, anyway? I don't hang around in your period-pain threads... – Wisper Dec 27 2011 at 11:32

Try the squeeze tease technique or the stop-start technique. They both take some practicing on your own, but they both put you in tune with the sensations you're feeling and give you MUCH more control. I don't have time to describe them in detail, but a quick google search should help. DO NOT use techniques that decrease stimulation such as two condoms, masturbating before sex, distracting yourself during sex to last longer, etc. These merely avoid the problem of premature ejaculation, whereas learning control through the two previously mentioned techniques directly addresses PE.

Try having sex with NO intention of ejaculating. In other words, go into the experience with only the intention of enjoying your partner and having them enjoy you. Explain to your partner that you want to experience sex with no finish line. If you start feeling like ejaculating, take a break with more for-play. Try this a few times without ever ejaculating (you can do that on your own time). You might find you last a lot longer when you aren’t trying to prolong, just enjoying the moment.

Masturbate ten minutes before sex, or try anal before entering the normal entrance works for me

I haven't seen anyone comment on this yet, and as such I'm really sorry to have to be the one to bring it up. Are you circumcised, or intact?

If it's what I think, my condolences... it's sad that we have to deal with this sort of thing in this day and age.
(This post is on topic, as being intact is Paleo)

But honestly, I'd just forget about it... if you enjoy sex and orgasm from it, then that sounds like it's working as intended, no? :)

(Off-topic here:
And for the person who said most women have delayed orgasm syndrome (if they need more than 3 minutes), is wrong. The problem isn't even them. I won't go into this, sorry, personal issues, I'm sure you understand. But the comment nearly triggered a panic attack for me, I thought I was broken because I couldn't orgasm, but then with intact men I could very easily, without trying. Do your own research please because I'm going to get pretty upset if I need to think of past bad memories. But it's not the women.)

This is so not what I thought my first post on this website would be... :O

Most of men nowadays are suffering from this issue. It is kind of problem that needs treatment. To know more about Premature ejaculation visit blog here: http://www.spam-spam-spam-medstorerx.com/sexual-health/premature-ejaculation-ways-to-prevent-it.aspx

Believe it or not, amino acid imbalances could be to blame. Too much histidine ?

"Men suffering from premature ejaculations often show increased Histidine activity..."

This is not going to be a popular answer but low dose Prozac works amazingly well for this, and has no effect of hardness. I have no idea why or how this is able to keep you from orgasming quickly, but it does.
