I know I know. I shouldn't have cheated. But I did. And now I'm feeling the effects of my poor decision-making.

Bloating. Stomach Girgles. Lethargy. Sweating. Acne. Tiredness. And all around general discomfort.

Was it worth it? Probably not. Though the 4 beers were delicious.

This is my first cheat and I guess part of me wanted to find out first hand how it feels.

My question is: what's the fastest road to recovery? I don't think I have the control to fast for a day. I'm on an isolated farm where the only real food is leftovers (no leafy greens left).

What should I do??

I like to have a big paleo meal the next time that I'm hungry, focus on meat and fat - and after you get that in you, fast for 15 - 24 hours if possible, drinking plenty of water. Be sure to get some sleep as well. – raney Dec 26 2011 at 8:37

Just return to the normal diet. You will feel better soon.

Drink plenty of water! Vitamin C is good in my experience but I appreciate this might not be available on a remote farm. If all you have is leftovers, I would concentrate on the turkey.

Get outside and take a walk if you can. Fresh air does wonders I find and the movement seems to help my digestion whenever I've been less that kind on my system. Drink lots of water and herbal tea - hydration is important. Foodwise I'd recommend sticking to whatever leftovers are closest to whole foods and don't make you feel heavy or weighed down even further. Definitely good to keep up all your other healthy habits too even if you're feeling less than stellar (sleep, stress management, sunlight, etc).
