Why don't Eggs fill me up? I fry 4 eggs in coconut oil and yet am hungry in less than 2 hours later. Why don't I feel full?

Bc 4 fried large eggs is only about 370 Calories. – Bill1102inf Dec 28 2011 at 21:50
Steak is way better for satiety than an equivalent amount of eggs. Now, steak and eggs... – Travis Culp Dec 29 2011 at 1:22
Add some carbs on the side. – Sue Dec 29 2011 at 3:18

I'm the same way. I can eat loads of eggs and yet be hungry an hour or two later.

As mentioned four eggs is not much....add a couple of more eggs and a whole avocado and 1/3 pound of sausage or bacon and you got my average breakfast size (160lb male moderate activity level FYI).

+1. At barely over 200 calories, 3 eggs (the standard omelette) is nothing. – tonysolo Dec 30 2011 at 20:17

Lucky you. 4 eggs and ~3 strips of bacon and I'm good for at least 6 hours. No snacks either. If you ever figure it out, let me know. :)

To me, eggs have to be with at least three strips of bacon or meat to be a filling breakfast. Maybe an everything omelet with veggies and ham/bacon would do it.

How long have you been Paleo? Do you feel like your body has adjusted to the change? In the first 2-4 weeks I was Paleo, I would always get hungry an hour or two after breakfast (which was usually 4 eggs, a sprinkle of cheese, and some veggies, plus tea with a dab of cream). In fact, I felt hungry a lot, especially in the morning and early afternoon. My body was looking for carbs and I wasn't giving it many, so it kept sending hunger signals I'm sure. As my body adjusted to the diet, however, I didn't feel as hungry anymore and my hypoglycemia problems disappeared. Now I eat three eggs over easy and drink a cup of tea with cream at about 7:30 and I'm good for 5-7 hours (or if I do feel hungry, I just ignore it and it goes away within 10 min. or so with no ill affects on my energy levels). This is not much food. It amazes me that my body has made this adjustment. Maybe you are still in an adjustment phase?

try eating 4 hard boiled plain eggs, see if they fill you up. if you're already lean and at your ideal weight, then 4 eggs no matter how you prepare them will probably be low in total CALORIES. add some tuber or steak to it

Eggs alone? Mine are fried in pastured butter and I always have a heap of veggies with them. Broccoli, green beans, artichoke hearts. Tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, olives, all kinds of things you could put in there.

3 eggs for breaky coffee with cream, does me for a good 6 hours too :)

Try 8 eggs? Personally if I eat 3 I'm hungry again in 5 minutes. 6 eggs last me till lunch though on days I go to the office.

Btw I cook them in butter and eat with a huge chunk of guacamole which I'm sure helps too! – saiklón Dec 30 2011 at 13:21
