So i have been on paleo for about almost two weeks now.. (i added in greek yogurt in the mornings) but besides that.. i have been pretty strict!
My energy is pretty high, i am having a hard time sleeping! Anyone else experience this? I love the energy and i know that it will be very useful when school starts again but i was just curious if it was an effect of paleo!
I also started doing some weights and less cardio (but walking a lot)..i am not sure if i have lost weight yet...but i cant imagine that i wouldnt eventutally by eating this way.
Anyone else have interesting side effects a few weeks on paleo? i would love to hear!
i had a HUGE increase in energy, but at the same time i started sleeping better than ever -- especially once i realized that even the smallest amount of caffeine gets me tossing and turning (i just have decaf now). other awesome 'side effects': clearer skin, stronger nails, tonsils that had been swollen my whole LIFE all of the sudden became a normal size, better digestion, less likely to get sick even when the rest of the world is coughing and sneezing on me, way less anxiety surrounding food, more positive body image, more proactive and willing to get up and do random or new things, less compulsive attitude to working out, I GET TO EAT BACON WHENEVER I WANT!!!...
there are so many awesome things that have happened in the past 2 years of being paleo! i'll never eat another way :-)
My experience matched meret's--much higher energy, longer blocks of restful sleep.
I do find that if I have anything on my mind it affects my sleep causing me to wake up at night or have vivid dreams. The trigger can be any strong emotion, either positive or negative. To enjoy 7 hours of continuous sleep I need to be in a pretty serene mode.
Food taste better. I could have never eaten a salad in the past without dressing, now I can eat one plain just fine. When I eat something I know I shouldn't I can feel the effects. I was very strict the 1st month I was on Paleo and then I decided to treat myself to a pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks. I had the biggest sugar rush I ever had since I was a kid.
