Where do Phoenix area paleo peeps go to fill their meat needs? I think I've figured out where to purchase beef and chicken. Pork is proving to be a bit more difficult to find, especially when trying to stay away from animals who are not fed soy or corn. I've checked EatWild and done quite a few Google searches already!

I'm fairly certain that I'll get meat and chicken through Double Check Ranch. I have been assured that corn and soy are not components of the feed provided to the chickens. – Banded Girl Dec 30 2011 at 19:32
thanks for asking this! I live in the east valley and it is hard to find any pastured meats around here.. – the_real_cdodd Dec 31 2011 at 19:25

Have you tried the Meat Shop? http://site.themeatshopaz.com/Location.html Other than that the Farmers' Markets. I go to the one in Ahwatukee on Sundays, my Wife goes to the one in Scottsdale on Saturdays. I usually buy Beef from Circle Key Farms, or at Whole Foods.

I've thought about making the trek to the Meat Shop--their hours are somewhat limiting given my schedule. I've been getting beef from the Farmers Markets in my area (SE Valley), but haven't seen pork in quite a while. – Banded Girl Dec 30 2011 at 20:48

I bought a quarter beef and a whole pig from Date Creek Ranch. They are out in Wickenburg. I bought in May and was so pleased I just purchased a half beef again this month. They deliver once a month centrally. Pork is pastured but grain supplemented. The beef is 100% grass fed organic. The pork was great (must have been since it is all gone already) and the beef is awesome. It is reasonably priced too.

I also got my beef and some pork from Date Creek Ranch. I liked their pork the best, but I prefer the tenderness and taste of the beef from CPR Meats.

They also have the best chickens and eggs I have tasted. They also deliver to the metro area.

You can also go to Topline Foods. They offer all the basic proteins for a reasonable cost. They will either deliver it or you can pick it up at their place.
