Is there any interest in bulk order grass fed beef delivered to Northern Virginia? I recently ordered a half steer from a Virginia farm and can vouch for its quality, so far I have had the ground meat, rib roast, and london broil, and it has been great. Minimum order is a half steer (about 200-225 pounds of boneless meat fully processed), so a cowshare would be a good idea. If interested, drop me a note here.

We have 100% grassfed beef & lamb and soy-free/pastured pork and eggs. We deliver to NoVa. Inventory on our website fluctuates with availability. I live near Staunton (formerly from Fairfax) and there are so many grassfed farms that I usually get my steer, processed and in my freezer for less than $5/lb; name your bovine variety, we have it w/in a 15 mile radius... long horn? angus? jersey? mutt? we've got it all. Piggy Wiggies too. (Yes, I live in food utopia) Call a place like T & E Meats in h'burg (Joel Salatain is part owner; 540-434-4415) and they will put you in touch with some farms they work with. Really, any small processor would have a list of people available for you. I think Polyface delivers a meat share up there too - but if you are willing to take the ride, there are a number of resources not too far from you.

You don't need to go THAT far away (Grayson County is like the other end of the Earth from where you are! And it is GORGEOUS out there!)

Hooray for finding a farm! We live a bit west of you down Rte 7.

Are you familiar with Blue Ridge Meats out in Front Royal? They might know of someone. Also, there is a family out in Purcellville on Rte 9 that does a meat CSA (or at least did) and raw milk shares if you're interested. I think the meat share was pork and pastured beef when we did it last year. We have a CSA (for everything, actually) from Moutoux Orchard in Purcellville and I think the farmer may be opening it up to more people for the coming year. (Not positive on details.)

I'm from Ashburn but in school at Auburn...Ill be at VT this summer for an internship! id be interested in getting a share and brining the leftovers back to Auburn in the fall!!!!

We already got a quarter steer (went in with some others on the whole cow), but I'm in Northern VA and we went through www.mountairyfarms.com and they were great to work with. 100% grass-fed/ USDA organic.

Over the Grass Farm has great grass fed and finished beef and lamb. Wonderful cowshare program too. I do believe they deliver now. They are located in The Plains, VA. WONDERFUL produce!
