For those of you who eat fruit daily or often;
Do you make a conscious decision as to when you eat your fruit and why then?
Info on the type and amount of fruit would be good as well.
Updated: Thanks for all the responses, I now have a follow up question:
A couple of responses relate to fruit either not being filling or making you want to keep on eating (whether that be more fruit of something else). I have also seen similar comments elsewhere.
I have just started to re-introduce fruit myself, i've only tried two at the moment; i find that i am okay with a banana, but strawberries just make me hungrier & wanting to eat. checking the nutrition info, i see that the banana has some starch, may be that's the difference for me?
So my follow up question is; which fruits do you find you can eat without craving more food afterwards (if any)?
(i figure this will be a shorter list rather than asking which fruits do you find non satiating or make you crave more food, may be even a list of zero fruits for some)
(text from first question below)
Just trying to get a feeling for the different views out there.
I've seen/heard quite some variation (both timing & reasons) on the subject.
eg. (here a few examples that come to mind):
~ no carbs after 3pm (or some other PM time); so i guess that includes fruits, (forgot reason why).
~ better to take your protein during the day, sugar and fat in the evening; (Ray Peat i think), (not sure why).
~ eat some fruit in evening before bed; helps me sleep, or stops me waking in the night (type of fruits, amounts & actual timings varied & some may have combined with a fat &/or protein source).
~ eat fruit at times where some of your liver glycogen has been depleted, ie. in the morning and right after a workout.
