Really would like to find someone who isnt the typical Doctor in my area. They all want to give you medications and run a billion tests! And I'm healthy!

What's up man! Good to hear you're still on the Paleo path! I haven't been to any Meetups lately, but we should definitely schedule another workout one soon! – FED at LiveCaveman.com Feb 20 2012 at 18:37
"They all want to give you medications and run a billion tests!" Thankfully, that's not true. My "regular" doctor and physician assistant are very supportive and have pledged to help me avoid meds whenever possible. They're out there but I agree there's no easy way to find them--I just lucked out. – Nance Mar 19 2012 at 19:25

there is a place by universal studios that, while i don't think it is paleo, he is a naturopath. i haven't been to him, but am always considering it. if you do decide to check him out, please let me know. i hate being the first one in the water. ;)

I've seen advertisements for his practice and they at least seem to be focused on prevention rather than disease management. I've been thinking about checking it out, but like you, would prefer if someone else dove in first! – FED at LiveCaveman.com Feb 20 2012 at 19:06

According to the Paleo Physicians Network there aren't any in Orlando proper, but there are 12 in Florida. Up for a drive?

I'm very happy with Dr. Johnson. He is a DO, rather then MD. After getting my blood work and discussing my diet of meat and veg (I didn't call it Paleo), he was very supportive. He said that my high total cholesterol was not concerning because of my low trigs and high HDL, ding! Didn't offer to put my on medication, he actually poo pooed statins a little, ding!

He did say to eat more fish and less red meat.. OK, he didn't tell me to eat oatmeal, so.. ding!

Anyway, here you go.

They do urgent care also, but are a regular primary as far as your insurance is concerned.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to see if he is on my insurance plan. – FED at LiveCaveman.com Feb 20 2012 at 19:07
