Hi! I'm looking to buy a whole cow from Stemple Creek Ranch (http://www.stemplecreek.com). I've been on a ranch tour there, met the cows who are all 100% grass fed and tasty. I'd prefer to get a whole cow since it's cheaper and I'm looking for people who would like to split it with me. The price would be ~ $568 per 1/4 cow (~100-110 pounds), which works out to $5-$5.50 a pound. Here's the breakdown:

20-25% steaks 20-25% roasts 40-45% ground beef 10-15% short ribs, stew meat, etc.

Anyone interested?

I normally would (I'm in Foster City), but I don't have a freezer to store so much meat. :(

Well that's easy - buy a new freezer! We bought a big freezer on craigslist a year ago for like $25 and it's the best investment we've made. We always have meat and veggies on hand now. – RedwoodCityLocal Jan 4 2012 at 1:30

I would be interested in the lean cuts.

Hi Conciliator, I'm not sure how that would work as I think they just split the cow up. Shoot me an email at starlitesue at gmail.com and we can maybe work something out. – RedwoodCityLocal Jan 4 2012 at 1:31

I'm not sure what you guys have worked out, but if there's some left over, I'm looking for the oxtails, shank, bone-in roasts, and offal.
