One of my dear friends just gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl, and I'm so thrilled.
She respects my/our dietary philosophy more than most and also loves my cooking, so I was going to bring a few easy meals over in the next couple of weeks. I tried doing some research on good postpartum foods for nursing mommas and it's the usual whole grains and lean meats. Blergh.
Are there any traditional foods that are especially beneficial to momma and baby in this trying, busy time? Bonus points if it's easy to make ahead and freeze/reheat, etc.
I already know to avoid anything too spicy and pungent.
