Hello

Just out of the blue well, gradually getting more present

I feel very calm, too calm, i feel like i've got a slow reaction time, and i'm zoning out. I feel the need to put pressure on my joints, it's some kind of weird fatigue i've never really experienced before. I just feel so odd, kind of lethargic. it also feels like i'm a bit drunk.

If it helps what I ate recently I had ginger tea with lemon pieces and saff flower and Chai tea with a bit of coconut cream and dark chocolate (85%) with some mini paleo sausages I made, and a few blue berries ( yes weird meal )

Thanks in advance

edit: Forgot to add that I had a bit of my roommates non-paleo tomato sauce

How long have you been Paleo? – a mesmerizing trickster Jan 9 2012 at 5:58
slow reaction time, zoning out, put pressure on my joints, weird fatigue, feel so odd, lethargic. drunk. This describes me from 2007 to early 2011 and was due to Grave's disease. I don't know what you meant by "feeling calm", do you mean like a zombie / spaced out? How fast is your heart rate/blood pressure? – a mesmerizing trickster Jan 9 2012 at 6:01
hahah :P that's a " snack from the fridge" meal :P. Oh i've been paleo for about 4-5 months :) I'm sorry that you experienced that for so long :(. Yeah I meant like being spaced out and like a zombie. After having a banana I gradually felt a bit better, it was probably because I didn't eat enough carbs today. I'm not sure how fast my heart rate/blood pressure is, but if it helps I checked two months ago and it was normal :) – Perseverance Jan 9 2012 at 6:34

Make sure you eat enough carbs (e.g. fruits, tubers). If not, that's the reason probably.

I second that. Make sure you eat more in general as well. It seems many people don't eat enough. – Ben Nash Jan 9 2012 at 4:34

hm, If i calculate I could have eaten today..about.. <20 g carbs? yikes, maybe that is a bit low. Good point! but I do make sure I eat enough :) – Perseverance Jan 9 2012 at 4:52
Hmm I don't know... when I started Paleo I rarely had tubers or fruits, and it was the first time all these symptoms went -away- . Now I eat plenty of tubers and some fruit, and I still feel good. I only get these symptoms again if I eat lots of gluten foods for a few days in a row. So I was wondering how long Perseverance has been Paleo for. – a mesmerizing trickster Jan 9 2012 at 6:03
20gr of carbs are too few. Some people do well on a ketogenic diet after a few weeks, and only if they eat enough MCT fat. If you are not doing that, and you simply just eat few carbs, then you're starving your brain. Definitely either add lots of coconut oil and go up to 30-40gr of carbs daily, or simply eat more fruits/tubers up to 100gr a day. – Eugenia Jan 9 2012 at 6:29
4-5 months :). Yeah I don't usually eat such a low amount of carbs, but in general I can be about 50-100 a day, carbohydrates don't really satisfy me so I always gravitate to fats and meat haha – Perseverance Jan 9 2012 at 6:37

Could that non-paleo tomato sauce have had some flour in it? Would be a bit weird for a tomato sauce, but that sounds like my gluten reaction. What does one add to a tomato or homemade spaghetti sauce to de-paleo it, anyhow?

Nah there was no gluten in the sauce, but good suggestion! – Perseverance Jan 9 2012 at 4:53
