Yes. Yes you can. But it may need to be moderated somewhat by what your goals are, or what your current health situation is. Paleo and primal friendly alcohol: unsweetened hard liquor (tequila, vodka, etc.), red wine. If you have liver issues (fatty liver, T2 diabetes, pre diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obese) - you might want to either cut back a little or abstain until your health improves. Also, if you must have a drink every night, consider whether or not that in itself is perhaps problem. |

Alcohol (as well as fructose) seem to be toxins that are conditionally activated/worsened by high PUFA consumption. As long as your PUFAs are low, there should be no problem with alcohol. |

Alcohol switches off GH secretion, even the tiniest amount. Robb Wolf goes into some detail on this topic in his book. Bear thsi in mind if you're trying to put on some muscle, or burn off higher amounts of fat while you sleep: alcohol before bed is a huge no-no. |

Be warned: your desire to drink may go away. I was a blackout drunk 1-2 nights a week pre paleo. Now I quit. Obviously there are other contributing factors. |
