Saw this on Facebook today. It's got a couple of minor issues with it, but overall it's not bad. So what do you think? Is it just a funny graphic? Or is it darn near close to being a good overview of the paleo diet?
PS. Please credit the originator in the comments if you know who it is!
Overall I think it's cute and a nice representation except for the "is it fruit or vegetable tree which is inadequate IMO and could lead people to thing things that are not acceptable are. A lot of people think of legumes as vegetables. Not sure "don't eat white potatoes unless you're skinny" is quite right either but maybe that's nitpicking?
The only problem I have with it is that it depicts foods as being in one of two groups: paleo or not. Paleo is a spectrum; better to give out some arbitrary score to paleo foods. And of course the score scale varies from person to person so it's impossible to generalize! Individual diets for everybody!
where's "lard" as oil?? and "avocado" is and oily veggie (with tons of carbs, which exclude it from being an "oil"; the original author should've put in "avocado oil" to clear up potential misunderstanding
