I've been eating primal/paleo since around Thanksgiving (7 weeks). I tried paleo in March of last year but that didn't last long. I've gone from weighing 225lbs down to 205lbs which I'm pretty pumped about. I seem to have more energy, more deep sleep, and a better mood as well.
However, the last few weeks I've felt odd in my stomach. I don't know if I'm not eating enough or something else. I will get these noises in my stomach like hunger pangs. Other times it will just make loud gurgling noises (and I won't feel hungry). Sometimes when I feel the loud gurgling noises its right before I go #2. My bowel movements seem to change even during the day...normal..diarrhea...constipation..normal..normal..diarrhea..diarrhea..constipation..etc. etc. You get the idea. Lately its a brown/green color.
Here is sample of what I eat:
Breakfast - 4 eggs/4 pieces of bacon or just a handful of nuts like almonds/walnuts...or I will skip breakfast. I usually have a cup of coffee every morning (with half & half and stevia).
Lunch - Salad with chicken...mushrooms..carrots..nuts..homemade dressing which is just olive oil and vinegar. Other lunches may be leftovers from the previous night's dinner. So maybe a 5oz piece of salmon with steamed veggies (with butter) and some nuts.
Dinner - Typically dinner is just a nice piece of meat (fatty cut of steak, chicken breast, pork chop, salmon, etc.) with veggies topped with butter. I will occasionally also have sauerkraut at dinner.
Snacks - I don't snack during the workday. Maybe I should. I usually will snack on some nuts before dinner..or have a few pickles...or both. Then after dinner I might have a few glasses of red wine and some dark chocolate.
Dairy - I will have half & half with coffee. Also, some cheddar on my salad or just plain as well. I don't actively avoid dairy.
Fats - Coconut oil (spoonful in my mouth or for frying) - ghee (frying) - butter (plain or cooking) - fish oil pills - avocados (2/wk) - fatty cuts of meat. I definitely do not fear fat except for corn oils, veggie oils, etc.
Alcohol - Usually a few glasses of red wine a few days per week. Other times when I cheat I will have some beers. I only experienced one heavy drinking day since I started paleo which was NYE/NYD.
Other Cheats - Corn Tortilla chips..white rice for sushi - bowl of chilli a few times.
I wonder what the heck is going on. The stomach noises are annoying and so is the wide range of #2 adventures. I am happy about the weight loss. But even the weight loss is scaring me...maybe its too much?? I weighed in earlier this week at 210 and now I'm 205. Just seems like a lot in a week.
Any advice would be appreciate. I apologize for such a long post.
