So... I may be confused here, but you could help me out.

So I'm a newcomer to paleo, as Robb says I'll try it for 30 days. However a lot of my meals have a basis of salad and 'green stuff'.

So when I go luck at Robb Wolf's food matrix to make my infinite amount of meal combinations I can't see any salad material (apart from a bell pepper), correct me if I'm wrong but:

I can eat pretty much any vegetable, no potato and eat dense root veggies in moderation. Surely my favourites like lettuce, spinach, cucumber are fantastic? Why on earth would he miss this out?! Especially in a book that is aimed for the big eyed, rabbit in the headlight newcomer?

You can eat salad. No harm in that. You might like to read Sisson. He includes a salad. Either way. Eat and Enjoy.

I'm planning to go on to read Sisson at a later date once I've got through 30 days. I just wanted to get a firm grounding first then I'll start modifying and adjusting based on other reading. Thanks for your help! – Ethnomusicolog3 Jan 15 2012 at 22:01

I don't think it's meant as a definitive list, or at least salad greens aren't something that fit into a random meal generator. And spinach is on the list.

Quite right! Spinach is on there. I realise it's not definitive, I just thought something as useful as salad stuff would be on their over... a daikon radish! Thanks for your help. – Ethnomusicolog3 Jan 15 2012 at 22:01
pretty much if its leafy and green you can eat it. I usually have a salad with spinach/mixed greens, 4 -5 other veggies, some protein and some olive oil or yogurt based dressing (i am more primal i guess) – gismcieri Jan 15 2012 at 22:13

I think salad greens aren't in his matrix, because you're just supposed to sautee everything all together in a pan. Some greens aren't as appetizing as others sauteed.

Right... So it's a Saute matrix! :D – Ethnomusicolog3 Jan 15 2012 at 22:34
