Pure cocoa butter tastes ehh. I found some once in a French gastronomy shop.
Though there are many claimed health benefits (the whole saturated veg fat thing - it has the same sorts of claims avos, and cnuts do), I think the combo of cocoa butter + cocoa (in 99% chocolate, for example) would bring those benefits and more.
I consider it a good fat but only mixed with chocolate (plain I use it to moisturize my skin). I buy super dark German chocolates because they have a regulation in place to only use real cocoa butter and no other vegetable fats. My fave is Hachez 88% Premier Cru. In one serving (about half of a 3.5 oz / 100 gram bar, there is 250 calories, 210 from fat. There are 23 gr of fat, 15 of which are saturated, and 4 gr fiber and 4 gr sugar (so this is a super bitter but super smooth chocolate with no dairy, and just isn't sweet. Of course, moderation is in order, but one small square a night is completely amazing and I consider it to be a good fat.
