I know cosmetics aren't technically considered "paleo," but I'm not willing to give them up. I was using 100% pure products for over two years, and just recently discovered that they are causing my skin (cheeks in particular) to break out. I've eliminated all nightshades from my diet which cleared up my mild rosacea, but because the cosmetics have tomato and goji berry pigments, my skin is still reacting to them. What brand of cosmetics do you all use/recommend? I'm really bummed considering the quality of 100% pure's products are great, but most of them have these couple of undesirable ingredients in them (for me).
BTW- I'm particularly looking for a cream foundation and powdered blush.
I use coconut oil as both a makeup remover and moisturizer. I just gently wipe off any excess before I put my makeup on or go to bed. I've noticed that when I use other OTC moisturizers, my skin does not look as healthy as it does when I use coco oil.
I haven't yet made the transition to organic makeup, but for skin care I really like the Earth Science line of Products. http://www.earthsciencenaturals.com/skin_care_face.html
I use these products for body and facial cleansing (they use only water and surprisingly, work great) and then moisturize with jojoba and coconut oil... Love the routine!
