I work in TV production (for the Food Network, among others) and would like to get into documentary film. I'm wondering if there's a documentary on Paleo coming down the pike? Something in the vein of Supersize Me and Food, Inc. If so, I would love to be put in contact with the producers to see if I could be involved. I think the movement would really benefit from a feature-length film. And for selfish reasons, how nice would it be to have a mass-appeal means of rebutting all the people who think I'm sabotaging my heart health by eating bacon.
This has been on my radar for a while: In Search of the Perfect Human Diet. According to the website, it's out in January. You'll see some familiar paleo names among the donors and in the trailer, but it's not clear how closely they've tracked paleo as commonly discussed here. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it's not a low-carb manifesto ;).
I don't know about any coming down the pike, but the Canadian film board or CBC or somebody did a movie on Native Americans dealing with their diabetes by going back to more traditional menu. Some clips on YouTube, I think. Search for Tlinkit diet, maybe, emphasis on British Columbia, I dunno, wish I still had a URL.
Bump, to make sure Bree gets an answer to her comment. The documentary was called "My Big Fat Diet", and it has it's own web page:
It's a starting place for your searches, at least.
