OK, so here is my proposed 8 day emergency "I just saw a picture of myself in San Diego this weekend and I only have 8 days until I leave for Hawaii and I want to barf" eating plan. KNOWING THAT THIS IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE ANY REAL CHANGE but wanting to at least feel better about myself, I am looking for hacks from successful paleos.

Coffee with cream (mostly decaf with a splash of the caffeinated)

Sipping broth during the day (both homemade and free-range store bought)

compressed eating window of 5 hours, meat with perhaps some green leafy (do get grass-fed)

maybe 1 piece of fruit a day if I have a sweet craving

Loads of water (completely normal for me).

Help?!? TPSW

Odd, my post dissapeared.. Reposting

PSMF - Protein Sparing Modified Fast

Avoid all fruits/sugars, limit calories, mostly lean meat

High intensity workout every 2 days for 15-20 min if you want to retain muscle

It's not fun if you're not in ketosis, first few days will be hunger pains. I was able to drop 4-8 lbs a week while already lower bodyfat, but it's sheer willpower til you're in ketosis , must resist rewarding yourself for exercise too.

Thanks for re-posting, my original question disappeared (probably when I edited). Just started the PrimalBlueprint fitness, have been doing walk/sprints every morning and erratic bodyweight work. I will up my intensity for sure. – TexasPrimalSurfWahine -TPSW- Aug 25 2010 at 17:03
I hope get to ketosis pretty quickly although I did go through a shrimp taco (corn tortilla) and deep fried beef taco extravaganza while in SD. I guess I will have to go cold turkey on sweet without the fruit though. What about the cream and broth? – TexasPrimalSurfWahine -TPSW- Aug 25 2010 at 17:06
Limit calories. A little cream and broth if they keep younfrom eating heavy won't hurt... But best results will be from one meal a day, no snacking. Cream and broth will interrupt full fast benefits – Stephen-Aegis Aug 25 2010 at 18:01
Stephen, I saw your estimate of 4-8 lbs a week and I just want to chime in and say that this is probably too unhealthy and/or impossible (8 lbs per week, if we're not talking about water weight, means you'd have to have be burning 4,000 cals/day more than you're taking in for 7 days straight!). Even for just the 4 lbs/week, that's still a deficit of 2,000 cals/day. I guess it's possible for larger people with more muscles or fat to burn 3,000 cals a day while consuming only ~1000 but it strikes me as too intense. So maybe TPSW should only aim for/expect 3 pounds/week at the most. – Marina Aug 25 2010 at 20:26
and im telling you it happened week after week. wasnt just water weight... perhaps its not just calories in vs out... perhaps we burn or release more than we think if we are in certain environments. Im not saying expect it. Im a guy, I am VERY active. I was Very Large. I went from Sedentary to Athletic, I reprogrammed, and thats what happened to me. Now to be fair... that would be N=1. Ive helped a couple other friends, one of which lost 12 lbs 2 weeks running. all have had great success.. its not for everyone... its what worked for me. – Stephen-Aegis Aug 26 2010 at 11:47
