Hello. I am having some success restoring weight lost due to an eating disorder and am getting close to no longer being underweight. I am wondering if a leptin reset would be a good idea, to fix my metabolism which I assume is still not functioning properly (I haven't gotten my period back yet). Trying to eat more and recover is very stressful and I would like it to be over as soon as possible, and I was thinking a leptin reset might help. Thoughts?
ETA- If I were to do a leptin reset, would I need to modify it at all, seeing as how I need to gain weight instead of losing or maintaining it like a lot of people who do the reset?
get weight restored, see your doctor helping your recovery and get tests, then decide what you need to do. weight restoration is not a number, it is a place, mental and physical that your blood work can reflect. if it isnt up to par, hormones are not high enough, then you are not 'done' or weight restored. do NOT hinder your recovery by trying to follow a protocol. it is not for someone who still needs to gain weight in recovery, regardless of what anyone may say. take the common sense of it, eat a big breakfast, go to bed early, take time out to get your act/thoughts together. i dont see what your trying to do with the restet. use it to gain? as in your not currently eating 3 meals a day? im not sure what your looking for
Forget the leptin thing. Eating food is the most important thing. Just focus on eating, first of all. Forget rules for now. Eat meat and veggies. Come back to regimens when you're healthy. It's going to take awhile. Since your period isn't back, eat carbs too, roasted carrot and turnip feast is a good start.
