I've gotten around to eating organ meats now thanks to US Wellness Liverwurst. I hear frequently I should eat it at least once a week. Typically, I eat .5lbs of meat a day. Should I be eating that much of it?

You are only eating 1/2lb of meat per day? – Warren D Jan 29 2012 at 9:51

Probably depends on which branch of Paleo you're following :p But liverwurst and other patés make liver a little more palatable to those of us who had to choke down overcooked and dry liver and onions as a kid ...

Perfect Health Diet recommends about a quarter pound of beef or lamb liver per week to get your weekly supply of copper (roughly averaging to 2mg per day).

Must have missed the number - thanks! My mother tells me that she did actually feed me liver and onions as a child but I don't remember so I probably won't like it. She's now convinced it's unhealthy so won't get much help from her re-discovering it. – balor123 Jan 30 2012 at 22:45

i probably over do it with 1/2lb beef liver, 1/2lb beef kidney, 3/4lb chicken liver and 1lb of beef heart each week. i hardly ever eat pork/chicken flesh anymore.
