Umm . . . I always have, including my SAD/SHAD days. I'm old enough that I didn't grow up in today's germ-phobic environment. Depending on circumstances I may pick off hair or pop it in my mouth or I may give the item a quick rinse but I don't throw solid things away just because I drop them.
But then, I ate many lunches/snacks in barns and did the same thing there. If anything, I'm unusually healthy and don't get sick all that often so I'm not planning to change.
That said, when handling raw meat and even while cooking it my hands and implements get washed and re-washed until the exteriors of all chunks are well heat-sealed. I'm only casual about things I eat raw.
I used to do this all the time. But now, when I think about the copious amounts of bread my family eats, and all the bread crumbs that must be flying around like evil demons, I don't eat anything that has touched the floor. Who knows how many gluten are on there?
For me all lines lead to eat it....Hell I've eaten stuff off of other peoples floor that I didnt even drop ;P≥...seriously our society with their purrel and antiseptics and whatnot make me laugh. Me and my kids do none of it and are absolutely less sick for it!
The title of this cracked me up pretty hard, because my five year old son has recently discovered "Plants vs Zombies" and his favorite thing to do is quote Crazy Dave saying "I eat food off the floor!".
With that said, of course we do. I have young kids, and if the dogs don't get to it first and the floors have been cleaned in the past week, it's fair game.
