Anyone using The Eatery, a food tracking iPhone app? Pretty cool; photograph your food & rate it on a scale from fit to fat. Rate other users' food and see how they rate yours. Unfortunately all types of eaters are rating your food; my bacon & egg breakfast was rated as very unhealthy. If it was divided by diet type it would be much more useful. I'm sure all the low-fatters don't appreciate how I rate their non-fat milk & shredded wheat. Still, I'm having fun with it. It's a good way to see what you've eaten over the past week and keep yourself accountable.

The Eatery is brought to you by Massive Health, which also made this infographic about carbs vs. fat, largely based on Gary Taubes.

Interesting idea, and I could see how PH in general could take advantage of it for some Guerilla Paleovangelism...

But frankly, I don't give a rat's "tar star" what others think about my food choices. I listened to them for 25 years of my life and ended up almost bedridden obese. It's my turn now.

too funny! i just installed this last night and i kinda love the idea, but since i tend toward obsessive food thoughts, other people's ratings of my food were really messing with my mojo. i wish there was a way to select into groups that eat in a similar way...or even just to log yourself without any outside feedback. i think for now, i need to stay away and do a more private log.

I barely understand what I eat and how much of it, so I can't really expect the same of others.

I am taking the ratings of others with a grain of salt. What I find useful is the ability to see my week's worth of meals at a glance; also, I may be less likely to eat a non-healthy food if I know I have to post it. Accountability to myself is what I am after, not the approval of others. However, I have found a few like-minded people to follow, and it's interesting to see what meals they post.

No. I'm trying not to be ocd on my food. But if I hit a plateau, I'll write down my diet for the few days to see if I am missing something (but I wouldn't use an app for that).
