I am looking for a protein bar that is ideal for refuelling after long distance endurance events; it needs to be rich in branch chain amino acids and moderate to high GI carbohydrates. Paleo friendly would be a plus but isn't essential.
The endurance event is a multi-day ultra-marathon in the Atacama and unfortunately all food must be carried so the usual post workout routine of meat and berries isn't really feasible.
Most protein bars that I have come across label themselves as "low carb" which is more contusive to weight lifters that want to get ripped.
Anyway I'm rambling...
Could anyone provide me with a link to a carb + protein rich bar (Paleo friendly is better but optional)
Failing that can anyone provide me with a recipe that could be followed to make them? I'm not afraid to get my fingers messy :-)
