I have a few rules of thumb:
I also lump guar gum in my avoid list if possible. I have noticed it seems to not agree with me. Many brands of coconut or almond milk actually have this ingredient (among others not found in coconuts and water). This gets me past most labels |

i guess this is not so much an additive as a by-product of processing methods. i simply can't stomach anything from a can -- i get terrible stomach pains. at first i thought it was tomatoes and coconut that i didn't digest well, but then it turns out when i have either of those items from a carton, i do just fine. my guess it has to do with the BPA. |
