I have a lipid test on 02.17 at 9:45. I am a little bit concerned because I eat the majority of my daily food before 10:00 a.m. I usually eat a huge breakfast and then eat very little for the rest of the day. My question is, what would be the best way to prepare for this fasted lipid test? Since I don't usually eat much at night, and I eat a lot in the morning, this fasting thing is going to be a bit difficult for me. Any suggestions on a night before meal that will keep me full for a long while? Should I gorge in the evening, or will my body naturally be angry in the morning anyway, if I don't feed it no matter what I eat the night before. It was the only time available, or I wouldn't have set it up this way. Grrrr :-/

Drink a lot of water it keeps you full and your veins plumped up.

They want you to fast so your levels are stable. Bulking up the night before could still affect it.

Start playing around with IF right now. You'll survive fine without eating. You'll just be cranky. Personally, I just set up the appointments as early as I can.

I know I'll survive, but I have to go to work before. I tend to be a big b*tch when I'm not fed & caffinated in the morning. Oh well... thanks for the response. – Stephanie Feb 9 2012 at 18:55
Yah, I know what you mean. Pretty much just have to expect to be cranky that day. That's why I never want to do that kind of test in the afternoon. :) Bring food for after the blood draw. – James Feb 9 2012 at 19:15
Yes, I have the same situation on the 15th and I'm going to take a lunch to dive into after the appt. – Nance Feb 9 2012 at 23:35
