Hi Paleo wizards: I've been struggling with my transition to a more highly compliant paleo lifestyle, and found that giving up Diet Coke and sugar (my main cheats) have actually led to an increase in nausea and acid reflux. I'm still playing around, trying to figure out what the trigger foods might be for me, and I have some candidates. I realized it would be really helpful to hear what paleo foods might be causing other folks difficulties too-what you've had to limit/cut out, so that I might learn from your experiences. Many thanks-this is such an amazing resource, and I'm grateful. I would have given up a while ago, if not for your helpful advice. As a side note, on the 2 days after completing whole 30, I tried a diet coke one day, and a blondie bar another day. Poured the DC down the drain, and spit the cookie bar out (disgustingly sweet). Crazy how much 30 days can change a person!

almost any paleo food could be a sensitivity for an individual person. certain vegs are hard to digest, some people can't do eggs, dairy, nightshades, coffee, coconut products. might be helpful if you listed the foods you generally eat and we can pinpoint potential issues. – Renee Feb 11 2012 at 18:06
If you happen to have a hiatal hernia, as I do, the time you eat can be as important as what you eat. I always finish eating for the day at least 4-6 hours before lying down for the night. I also do best if that late meal is protein/fat vs. carbs. – Nance Feb 11 2012 at 18:08
