Would you couchsurf if the hosts were paleo? Does paleo make it harder to travel healthily for you?

Couch surf is where you stay at a host house when you travel, and often the host will stay your place at some time. If done correctly it save a lot on housing and food expenses. And you could share recipes too.

We couchsurf all the time, and host all the time -- in fact, a couchsurfer is arriving tomorrow. Oh and all couchsurfers who come here jump right into our all-beef Argentina experience :)

Hey if any paleos want a true paleo experience (in many senses!) in Argentina, just send me a shout-out! morgan@westegg.com

Are you the paleo-kosher women in argentina? – primallykosher Feb 13 2012 at 23:17
that would be awesome! are you on the couchsurf.org website?? – boredomkillsya Feb 14 2012 at 0:15
It sounds like you have the best couch in Latin America! If I ever travel to Argentina I'll be sure to look you up! – FED at LiveCaveman.com Feb 14 2012 at 0:31
Hahaha! @BoredomKillsYa Of course I am, here is my profile: couchsurfing.org/people/citywanderer - note that I've never actively sought paleos on CS so my profile is more just my wacky sense of humor than about paleo. @PrimallyKosher well I am paleo AND Jewish AND in Argentina -- but I'm not a woman! But, considering I know lots of people and it's a tiny world here, I probably know her! I do run the Paleo Argentina Meetup also! Who is she, I want to meet her (but alas I'm taken... by a paleo-kosher Argentine woman!! haha) ;) I'd love to have ANY paleo who is awesome: come visit! – Morgan Feb 14 2012 at 1:18
I will definitely stop by some time. I need to try kosher argentina food. The spices are probably wonderful. – primallykosher Feb 14 2012 at 2:51

On facebook? Or some social network built from the ground up? – primallykosher Feb 14 2012 at 2:51

An actual group on CouchSurfing.org. I've created one and added it to my post. – txrandom Feb 14 2012 at 3:25
txrandom - Way to go! Thanks for setting this up. I hope to be able to join in the fun soon. – MeepsIsWellfed Feb 14 2012 at 18:35

I would do it and probably host too. My husband and I had talked about WWOOFing at some point with our kids if we could find at least a GF-friendly place. I'd mostly worry about couch-surfing with small children. They're a handful, and hosting adults would be much easier. Luckily for now I have relatives and friends who live in Europe and will host us. I like being able to stay outside a hotel and more in the culture of wherever we're going.

http://wwoof.org/ for the other reference.

As for travel difficulty... I've found that I am happy 'cheat' to include traditional local foods as long as they're gluten-free, so I'm not the best one to ask on that.

I've couchsurfed a lot, and having celiac found myself naturally eating somewhat Primal before going full paleo. Now that I am paleo, I hope to couchsurf more in the future. For me it fits quite well. A modern nomad who eats like a modern caveman.

Again because of celiac, when I travel I often have my own food and learn where local markets are. I have to. But if the host were paleo, even better.

I would host as well, once I have the digs to do so. And might very well hit up Morgan in Argentina (above) whenever I make it down there. And I'd gladly friend other PaleoHackers on CS, if I remembered my login...
