Try The Linkery -- they might have some or know where to get some. Also, I ordered some Mangalitsa bacon from WoolyPigs.com -- not cheap, but AMAZING. |

I've heard (and had) good things from Sausage King in Hillcrest though I've never been, myself. |

This is a bit of an old post, but my question is, what do you consider "quality bacon"? |

They sell pastured bacon at the Encinitas farmer's market on Sundays 10-2 (or so). I don't like it as much as regular bacon -- much less fatty and it's cured very subtly... not enough salty/smoky flavor for me. But it's healthy! |

@ Todd, your post is from 2010, but maybe you are still interested in it. In La Jolla is a great butchery called "Homegrown Meats" it is specialized on grass-fed beef and they sell a super delicious bacon there. -> http://www.homegrownmeats.com/ Not just the bacon is good, also the meat. The butchery is not close to my place but I invest the time and drive there every week twice. |
