I am doing an informative presentation in my college speech class in a week on the paleo diet. I am new to this diet so I would appreciate any tips on things I should focus on as far as pros and cons. I have the basic concepts down but I don't want to overlook anything. Thanks everybody. This new lifestyle and diet change has been amazing and I hope to adequately project that to my peers.

I would avoid labeling the diet. Instead you should talk about the importance of eating whole natural foods and avoiding processed foods containing preservatives, artificial additives, and chemicals. That's my 2 cents. If you feel you need to label it and you need a visual aid, this video is quite convincing of the power of real food: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KLjgBLwH3Wc |

It's important to speak of your own experiences, questions, findings, etc. It will help your audience if you keep your terms familiar--words most people are familiar and comfortable with. Tell them the things you enjoy and be honest about your challenges. |

i think emphasizing the simplistic nature of paleo style eating would be helpful. i had a conversation with a nurse who described paleo as that "crazy diet for crazy people who drink bacon fat for breakfast". maybe dispell some of that nonsense. |
